How do I increase the size of the text?
On the top of every page, you’ll see a call-out that allows you to make it bigger. Look for “Text size: A A A” and select the one that’s better for you.
What will you do with my email address or other personal information, if I provide it?
We’re committed to respecting and protecting our customers’ privacy. Please read our privacy policy for details. If you’ve provided your email address for Product News, any email you receive will include details on how you can unsubscribe at any time.
Printing and bookmarking
There’s a “Print” link at the top of each page. What does that do?
The Print link will simply send the page that you’re viewing to your printer. Many people find it easier to read paper versions, especially if there are lots of details.
There’s a “Bookmark” link at the top of each page. What does that do?
The Bookmark link will add that page in our website to your browser’s favorites. It makes it easy for you to return to the page any time you go on the internet.
PDF files
What does the phrase “download a PDF” mean?
Sometimes we offer the ability to download a document that you can save to your computer. You can then view it anytime, whether you’re connected to the internet or not; and you can print it, too. PDF stands for Portable Document Format, and it can be read with the Adobe® Reader® software. If you don’t have this software, you can get it for free from the Adobe website.
Video player
How do I use the video player controls?
Underneath the video you’re about to watch are controls, similar to your DVD player remote control.
On the far left is the button to play or pause. If you hit play, it switches to a pause button. If you hit pause, it switches to a play button. In the middle is a bar that moves left to right in time with the playing video. You can hover your cursor over the bar, then click and drag it left to rewind or right to fast forward.
To the right of the timing bar is a button to turn closed captioning on or off. Then, to the right of that is the volume control. It works similarly to the timing bar. Hover your cursor over it, then click and drag left to lower the volume or right to increase the volume. Also, make sure that your computer’s speakers are turned on.
What’s the difference between low bandwidth and high bandwidth?
When you’re about to view a video, you’re given the option of two ways to watch it. The high bandwidth option is a larger file, offering a clearer picture. It’s best if you have a fast internet connection, such as cable or DSL. The low bandwidth option is a smaller file with a slightly lower quality picture, and is best if you have a regular internet connection, such as dial-up.
